Murali Sunkara, DPT

Murali is the owner and a physical therapist with over 16 years of experience in various settings. He completed his Doctorate of Physical Therapy from Dominican College, NY. Murali excels in practicing myofascial release techniques, spinal manipulation and mobilizations. He has expertise in evaluation and treatment of patients with Orthopedic and Neurological diagnoses ranging from joint sprains, arthritis, muscle injuries and post-fracture care to post-surgical rehabilitation, back and neck pains, dizziness, balance deficits and joint replacements.

Meena Narula, MSPT, Feldenkrais® Practitioner

As a rheumatoid arthritis survivor, Meena understands what its like to live with functional limitations and constant pain. Her personal journey served as an impetus to her lifelong career in physiotherapy. Meena originally founded Barclay Physical Therapy in 1992. She graduated from Oakland University with a Masters Degree in Exercise Science and is certified in the Feldenkrais® Method. Meena's professional experience includes over 35 years in a variety of medical settings; hospitals, nursing homes, home health care, patient clinics and is former instructor at Macomb Community College. Her professional excellence has been recognized by the following: recipient of the 1997 Outstanding Physical Therapy Facility of the Year Award, recipient of the 1996 Outstanding Physical Therapist of the Year Award, and the recipient of the 1994 Star's of Hope Award. Meena's community involvement includes active membership in the Michigan Arthritis Foundation and serving as a former Board of Director for HAVEN. 

Jessica Folk, PT

Jessica graduated from Youngstown University with a Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy.  She has been working at Barclay Physical Therapy since 1999.  Her continuing education has focused on manual and muscle energy techniques. She has received in-services in the Movement Behavior Modification Program®.  Jessica has developed a program for evaluation and treatment of patients with sacro-iliac joint problems.  She specializes in orthopedics and arthritis-related disorders.

Meagan Keat, MPT, DPT

Meagan has worked for Barclay Physical Therapy over six years as a physical therapist, initially starting 14 years ago as a student. In 2003 she graduated from Oakland University with a Masters in Physical Therapy and later completed her Doctorate Degree in Physical Therapy from the University of St. Augustine, FL. While pursuing her Doctorate, Meagan’s research focused on effectiveness of exercise in physical therapy intervention for prevention and treatment of pregnancy-related lumbo-pelvic pain. Her doctorate program included courses in primary care: differential diagnosis, imaging, spinal stabilization, performance psychology and health service administration.   Meagan specializes in orthopedics and arthritis-related disorders and developed a program for balance assessment/re-training and myofascial release.  Meagan is also an expert at treating lymphedema.

Lisa M. Giusty, DPT

Lisa has been with Barclay Physical Therapy since 2012. She graduated with a Doctorate of Physical Therapy and Bachelors of Science in Psychology from Central Michigan University.  Since her graduation and clinical internship at Harkness Center for Dance Injuries at NYU’s Hospital for Joint Diseases, she has sought out continuing education concerning Manual Therapy & Cranial Sacral Therapy.  She is certified in Pilates, BioCored, and Redcord and has been instructing for over four years.  In addition to a dance background of over 25 years, this combination has proven to be a powerful union in helping others gain the full potential in strength and freedom in their movements that was not realized before.

Kathryn Yax, PTA

Kathy graduated from Mott Community College with an Associates of Applied Science Physical Therapist Assistant, 1996.  She has been employed at Barclay Physical Therapy since 1999.  She has attended continuing education seminars in Mulligan’s manual therapy, orthopedic rehab: knee & shoulder, bone & joint disease, spine symposium, and chronic pain management.  She has attended in-services in the Movement Behavior Modification Program® and completed a course in “Rehabilitation Settings Tests and Measures”. She uses her knowledge and personal experience with rheumatoid arthritis to assist physical therapists in treating patients with orthopedic problems and arthritis-related disorders. She is the Center Coordinator for Clinical Instruction for Baker College of Allen Park & Auburn Hills; as well as a credentialed Clinical Instructor by the American Physical Therapy Association. She also serves on the advisory board for Baker College, Auburn Hills Campus P.T.A. Program.




Mary Jo Basela, PTA

Mary Jo graduated from Mott Community College with an Associates of Applied Science Physical Therapist Assistant, 1996.  She has been employed at Barclay Physical Therapy since 1996 (she took three years off due to family leave).  She has attended continuing education seminars in shoulder, knee and back rehab, bone and joint disease, spine symposium and chronic pain management.  She has attended in-services in Movement Behavior Modification® and completed a course in “Rehabilitation Settings Tests and Measures”.   She assists physical therapists treat patients with orthopedic conditions and arthritis related disorders.   She is a credentialed Clinical Instructor by the American Physical Therapy Association.
